Position Summary
The IT Security Engineer is a key member of both the Information Security Group (ISG) and the IT Infrastructure Team. The position serves as the technical bridge between information security governance and operational IT infrastructure, ensuring that security controls are effectively implemented, monitored, and continuously improved across the enterprise.
The role is responsible for protecting information assets, supporting the Information Security Management System (ISMS), strengthening infrastructure security, coordinating vulnerability management activities, driving technical security initiatives, and contributing to incident response and cybersecurity resilience.
The IT Security Engineer provides subject matter expertise across cloud, network, endpoint, identity, and security monitoring technologies while partnering with business and IT stakeholders to reduce cyber risk and ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

· Effective security monitoring and alert handling.
· Security KPI and risk reporting.
· Enterprise vulnerability management lifecycle execution.
· Security exception reviews and tracking.
· Vulnerability reporting and management communication.
· Secure infrastructure baselines and hardening standards.
· Security monitoring and logging improvements.
· Security tool optimization.
· Policy, standards, and procedure input.
· Security control validations.
· Support audits and compliance reviews.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
Security Engineering Activities
· Identify and communicate potential threats to information assets.
· Provide guidance on system hardening and share security best practices.
· Identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions in response to security incidents.
· Support internal security vulnerability management program.
· Provide input to policies, use cases, and playbooks.
· Support the implementation of technical controls and operational procedures to prevent information security risks.
· Support and contribute to Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) initiatives.
· Develop automation for security operations and monitoring.
· Validate secure implementation of infrastructure projects.
· Enhance log collection and security visibility coverage.
Other Responsibilities
· Collaborate with other teams to implement necessary infrastructure changes.
· Stay up to date on the latest security and technology developments.
· Collaborate with development and operations teams.
· Share cybersecurity risks and lessons learned within Veoneer.
· Monitor and consider upcoming requirements, potential threats, and best practices.
· Support internal threat hunting, phishing simulations, awareness initiatives and knowledge sharing.
